Windows 10: Entered information in the Properties field disappears after hitting apply in Groove music app.

Anyone know why when after hitting apply that the information that was entered dissapears? When i enter fields in properties and hit apply all the info dissapears. It seems to be only happening with one certain file. Said app is groove music. Windows 10

I suggest you to follow the steps below to uninstall Groove:

• 
  Press Windows key.
  
• 
  Type Windows PowerShell in the Search.
  
• 
  Right click on Windows PowerShell from the list and click on
  Run as Administrator.
  
• 
  Type in the following command ‘get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneMusic* | remove-appxpackage’ and press
  Enter.

Groove Music metadata

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



We would suggest you to follow methods mentioned below to edit metadata in Groove music app.



Method 1: Edit metadata using Groove.

1. Open Groove and click on
   My Music.
   
2. Under My Music, use the filter menu and select
   only on this device.
   
3. Right click the album with the tracks and select
   Edit info.
   
4. In the Edit Album Info, you can edit the metadata information.
   
5. You can even click on
   pencil button to update album thumbnail image.
   
6. By turning on the switch under
   Show advanced options, you can change song soft title.
   
7. Click on Save.
   

Method 2: Edit metadata using File explorer.

1. Open File Explorer and browse to the location of the songs.
   
2. Right click on music file and select
   Properties.
   
3. Go to Details tab and click the
   Value field next to the Property.
   
4. You can edit the metadata accordingly.
   
5. Then click on Apply >
   OK.

Groove music app not working

Personally I'd be overjoyed as I uninstall Groove regularly as a matter of preference.

But my suggestion would be try to reinstall Groove using Power Shell thusly:

Step 1: Close Groove Music, if it’s running.

Step 2: Open PowerShell with admin rights. To do so, type PowerShell in Start menu or taskbar search box, right-click on PowerShell tab in the pop up menu and then click Run as administrator option.

Step 3: copy and paste the following command get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneMusic* | remove-appxpackage

and press ENTER

Step 3b CLOSE POWER SHELL

Step 4 Go to Microsoft Store and Download and Install the Groove Music app.
