Windows 10: Entering Away Mode instead of Sleep as a result of system idle?

Hi all,I'm trying to configure my living room PC so that it would function as a WiFi hotspot continuously. I was unable to keep my WiFi, VPN and Mobile Hotspot on while in Sleep S3 mode, but I noticed that while in Away Mode my computer functions just as I expected - it keeps sharing WiFi and wakes from the sleep fast.I've successfully enabled Allow Away Mode Policy, and modified the PC so that each time a user tries to enter a sleep state the computer will go to Away Mode instead. Windows 10 goes to lock screen instead of sleep mode.

My computer has this problem for a while but i haven't found any solution online.

My PC doesn't go to sleep mode by being idle anymore, instead of going to sleep mode it just locks the user and goes to the lock screen.

The only way to go to sleep mode is to put my PC manually.

Did anyone experienced that issue?

Any suggested solutions?

Sleep when not idle

Of late, Win10 Pro has taken to sleeping while viewing lengthy videos, instead of waiting until the PC is idle for the period specified. No changes have been made to power/sleep/screensaver settings or programs.

Not the case in the past. A system image from months ago was restored but spontaneous sleep persists.

Most all suggestions from the Net have been tested. Network, chipset and video drivers are current.

Could this annoyance be the result of a Windows update? If so, which one?

New ideas welcomed.

For step #7 please include {badmemory} in the command: bcdedit /enum {badmemory}


The event logs displayed:
The system is entering sleep.
The system has resumed from sleep.

In case there are any sleep problems after the BIOS upgrade please provide detailed information so that the event logs can be rechecked (specific time, etc.)

For the tune up the drive and other hardware components are to be checked.
