Windows 10: Epson Event Manager - Windows 10

I just bought a new Epson Workforce Pro WF-3820. To work the scanner I need the appropriate Epson Event Manager on my Dell laptop with Windows 10. Event Manager just will not work on my computer. I've already right-clicked on the folder to which I want the scans to go and checked the box "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object, and then click Ok." from an earlier post. This corrected one error: the scanner now picks up my computer. But it then does not scan. I assume this is due to the lack of the Event Manager. Help! Thank you!

Cannot scan to Computer from Epson WF-2830

I have just installed the printer in subject above. When I came to scan from printer to Laptop (which laptop I can see on the printer's screen) I am getting invalid. OS of laptop is Windows 10. Epson Scan 2, and Epson Event manager are installed. But while
when I type Epson Scan2 in the bottom left I get the App, when I do the same thing for the Epson Event Manager I do not get the APP.

When I open the COntrol panel the Epson Event Manager App is listed.

That 2nd link you cited for the 1240U does not have a driver download. It is only for downloading Utilities: the event manager, at least if you have Win 10 64 bit as I do. That link says you must have the Epson Scan Utility already installed:

However, you can download the Epson 2400 Drivers. Once downloaded, you can force the 1240U to use them.

 

Did our Epson printer get hacked?

Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.
