Windows 10: Epson Perfection 4490 Scanner software no longer useable since latest windows 10 updates

I have an Epson Perfection 4490 Photo flat bed scanner. Never had an issue until just a few days ago. To use, first turn on scanner, allowing device to complete it's warm up. Then, simply launch Epson Scan software. There will be 2 windows side by side, the one on the right displays scanned image, one on left is controlling preview, scan and launches where to what folder to save scan item in. Also controls for what type of image. Whats happen is two fold. First I no longer can choose where to the file. Then when I click to scan to savend and I get this. I can use the Microsoft Scan app. Just wondering why this happens. Already tried to correct all the folder permission options, choices, nothing works.

Epson 4490 with Windows 10

I had the same problem even after installing the latest driver. I did install the latest Epson
Event Manager v3.10.69 from the same site which is at

and DID NOT use compatibilty mode for Windows 7. Just run it for windows 10. Now the application closes when I tell it to. Right side preview pane should come up when you click preview in professional mode. Install the diver file first, then the event
manager.

 

Software/Drivers for Epson Perfection 1670 scanner using Win 10


Does anyone know of any software/drivers that will work with an Epson Perfection 1670 scanner using Windows 10 ?
There is none on the Epson website listed for Windows 10.

Try this Windows 10 driver for the Epson Perfection 2400....Worked great for my Epson Perfection 1660...(there also a 32 bit edition if you need}

Instructions to install if you need it:

Install software FIRST with scanner disconnected (USB). Connect scanner go to Device Manager (WIN + X) find scanner. Right click proceeded to update driver. Choose look in local files; let me choose from list...choose Image... Epson perfection 2400 photo...install....choose yes when asked about install wrong driver....reboot...check Windows 10 for updates just to make sure driver is not update or replaced by Windows
