Windows 10: Epson printer properties no longer available with windows 10?

Is a fix being planned so I can print in greyscale and in draft form. This is really annoying.

The answer to this question is:

1. Go and install a proper driver form vendor of your printer. In this case EPSON. Probably valid for any other vendor.
And that's actually all.

In my case "Epson ECP/P Standard 10 V4 Class Driver" Driver was installed automatically by Windows 10. This driver has only printing capability, without any knowledge about the actual hardware.

The correct driver for my L310 is named "EPSON L310 Series".

Now properties are back. All paper sizes are back. Head cleaning is back. Everything, everything is back, "Dave".

Windows 10 will not communicate with Epson printer

I have Windows 10 (64 bit) installed on HP desktop for several years working successfully. . A local wi-fi network has enabled wireless printing on Epson printer (WF 4740) for many moths. After Windows 10 automatic update in September, 2019 desktop can
longer communicate with printer. Troubleshooting error message reads "there may be a problem with printer which Windows will take steps to fix". No fix has ever taken place. Today I updated all Epson printer drivers and related software, was able to print
test page through Epson website. However, inability of HP desktop to communicate with Epson printer and error messages continues

I would appreciate any suggestions about corrective measures

Since when did the printer fail to recognize its cartridge? Basically, with this kind of issue, the best route to get an appropriate solution or recommendation is to get in touch with the Epson
Support. Being the manufacturer of the device or the product, they can properly assist you especially with the printer and cartridge compatibility.

With regard to the "Driver unavailable" error that you received, I suggest that you restart your computer to let Windows reinstall the printer driver. In case the error persists, then let's have Windows to automatically search for the device driver
or proceed with rolling back the driver if the older driver is still available. To do that, follow these steps:

Update the Printer driver

1. Right-click the Windows key and select Device Manager.
2. Expand the Printer category.
3. Right-click your Epson printer, then click Update Driver.
4. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Roll back driver

1. Right-click the Windows key and select Device Manager.
2. Expand the Printer category.
3. Right-click your Epson printer, then click Properties.
4. Click the Driver tab, then click Roll Back Driver.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Firstly, I would suggest reinstalling or updating your printer drivers:

Next, you can try the troubleshooter:

- Click Start and type "troubleshoot" then select the first result.

- Scroll down and choose Printer. This may fix the issue.

Otherwise, try reinstalling the printer with the following steps:

- Press Windows Key+X and choose Device Manager.

- Find your printer in the list.

- Right-click it and choose Update Driver.

- If that doesn't work, try uninstalling it and then scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver.
