Windows 10: Epson Scan for Epson v850 Pro freezing up after Windows 10 installation.

Epson v850 pro flatbed scanner software, Epson Scan, freezing up even after downloading & installing new driver from Epson. Freezing up occurs when I choose "File Save Settings" then "Options" in Image Format. Have been scanning & saving until I needed to access Options. Freezing problem began after installing Windows 10 update recently.

Epson Scan Crashes - Epson Perfection V700 Scanner


I have an Epson Perfection V700 Photo scanner and have not had any previous trouble with Windows 10. Recently Epson Scan started to crash. This happens when I click on any window outside the Epson scan interface and then click back into Epson scan. Then a blue circle starts turning forever. I have to close Epson scan using the task manager or by right clicking Epson scan in the taskbar/close and Windows will send an error report.

1- I have uninstalled the Epson Scan software and reinstalled the latest driver from the Epson Website for Win 10 64 bit.
2- I have tried to roll back to an earlier graphics card driver.
I have tried using a different USB cable plugged into a different port.

So far the problem continues. I suspect the problem could be due to the latest Windows feature update or maybe the Graphics card driver could be to blame.

Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this problem would be appreciated.

I removed all trace of Epson stuff even in the registry and installed the drivers again but the same thing is happening. I have seen these on ebuyer

Epson 4490 with Windows 10

I have an Epson 4490 scanner that worked well on Windows 7, but will not work with Windows 10. I have tried downloading the latest driver, and spoken to Epson support, but got nowhere. Any suggestions?

I have tried all the steps that you suggested, deleted old drivers installed the latest one , but with no result.

When I click Epson Scan I get only half the usual screen, the settings part. The part that should be on the right is not there, so that you cannot see the image nor set the scanning area. If you click scan, it will scan the full area, and the imaged is
saved, but the program then freezes, so to get out you have to restart the PC. Where to now?
