Windows 10: Epson XP-830 not detected in Win 11 until troubleshooter launched

    Epson XP-830 not detected in Win 11 until troubleshooter launched


    It seems to happen every time I need to use the printer. My Epson-XP830 is connected via WiFi, 1Ghz connection, it shows it's connected WiFi icon lit. But when I request printing a document usually in Edge or Firefox, I get a communications error message from the Epson and, on the first print request after restarting, nothing prints. If I launch the Win 11 troubleshooter, the print job starts immediately. I don't think the troubleshooter actually has a chance to do anything. Subsequent print requests generate the Epson Communications Error message but go ahead and print. The Epson error me

    Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Troubleshoot

    Scroll down

    Click Printer

    Click Run the Troubleshooter

    When complete, restart to see if the problem is resolved.

    If that does not work...

    Please try the steps recommended below to uninstall printer software

    Press Windows key + X, click Apps & Features or Programs and Features

    Select your Epson printer.

    Select Uninstall.

    Press Windows key + R, type control, hit Enter

    Open Devices and Printers.

    In the Devices and Printers window look for your Epson Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

    Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

    Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

    Click on Drivers tab.

    Look for Epson Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

    Select OK.

    Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

    Close Devices and Printers.

    Proceed to reinstall the driver.

    Problem Printing Labels with Epson XP-830

    When trying to print labels from Windows 10, version 1709, my Epson XP-830 identifies the label sheet as wanting to print to CD/DVD vs to label sheets. I checked and have no outstanding updates. How do you correct this?
