Windows 10: Ergonomic Keyboard not discoverable, won't pair

I've had my Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard for about a year and a few months ago it started having problems.


In the beginning, the keyboard would lose the bluetooth connection and I would have to unpair then pair again. This turned into losing connection, but when I went to pair my PC did not recognize the keyboard when I tried to add it. It would take several tries but would eventually show up. Now, I can't get it to show up at all. I did all the troubleshooting, checked power settings and made sure all drivers were up to date. I rebooted the computer, and changed batteries and was able to find it and connect yesterday. But when I turned it on today, the keyboard would not work - so I unpaired it and tried to re-add. Its back to not finding the keyboard.


Looking to see if there is anything else to try. At this point, I'm wondering if it isn't a problem with the keyboard - hopefully its under warranty.

Issues with Surface Ergonomic Keyboard

To isolate the concern, is your computer also freezing when you're not using the new keyboard? This is for us to know if the issue is being caused by the keyboard or a program on your computer.

In the meantime, kindly uninstall the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard drive, and then re-install it. To do this, follow the steps below:

• (Make sure the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard is connected) Right click the Start button.
• Click Device Manager.
• Expand Keyboards.
• Look for the driver of the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard. Right click the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard driver, and the choose,
  Uninstall.
• On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the
  Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.
• After deleting the driver, visit this
  link and download the driver software.
• After downloading the driver software, run it to install.
• After installing the driver, restart your computer.
• After restarting, observe if your computer will freeze after waking up the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard.

Pair sculpt ergonomic mouse with the ergonomic keyboard from another kit

I purchased the sculpt ergonomic kit which includes the keyboard, keypad and sculpt mouse. The mouse lost precision and scrolling so i decided to buy a replacement mouse. I wanted to try it and see if i could pair with it the older keyboard/keypad. Is
this doable?
