Windows 10: ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED - Unable to access the network.

Hi Everyone,


I've tried looking around the community to resolve my issue but do not seem to find a resolution that has helped.


I have a Windows Surface Book running on Windows 10 and I am having issues connecting to certain public Wifi. I was using Mcafee firewall in the past but have uninstalled the program a number of months ago and now using the windows defender/firewall. To ensure I uninstalled all the components of the smart security, I uninstalled through Windows and then also downloaded a software on the Mcafee website to help check/remove all the components.


I have tried other connecting other devices to the same Wifi and have zero issues, only the computer was giving me this network access denied message.


When I click on diagnose, the windows network diagnostic bounces back and tells me that 'security of firewall settings might be blocking the connection'


Things I have tried and not successful:

- restore default windows firewall

- network reset


Just today I found the 'WindowsFirewall.diagcab' tool to give it a try but as I clicked onwards to see if this fixes the issue. I get a message telling me:

"Windows Firewall cannot be set as the default firewall


....This problem may be occuring because of an existing Group Policy or because you are using the Mcafee Firewall firewall program...etc"


This does not allow me to proceed in the troubleshooter


Like I mentioned above, I have the Mcafee firewall removed a long time ago and have the Windows Firewall as a default. Is this the cause of my computer not being able to connect onto certain public Wifi's? If so, can someone teach/help me how to resolve this issue?


(the only way I am able to connect to this network right now is through my Wifi Hotspot function on my Android phone)


I am not very tech savvy and all the things I have done so far is through browsing this website. If there's more information needed to resolve this, please let me know.

Can't access a website: ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED

When I try to enter mirillis.com it shows me the next error:

Unable to access the network

ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED

I tried everything and it dosen't work, please help

Network permission is one of the possible reasons why you can't access a drive within a network. To better assist you, we the answers to the following questions:

• Are you working with computers connected to a domain?
• Did you make any changes on your computer prior to the issue?

In the meantime, we suggest following the steps below to troubleshoot Shared Folders in Windows 10:

• On the Cortana search box, type Troubleshoot
  and select the first result.
• Scroll down and click on Shared Folders.
• Click the Run the troubleshooter button.

Unable to access the Admin page of my modem router since latest Windows 10 update

Since I updated the latest Win 10 update, I am unable to access my modem router's admin page. I previously never had any problems logging to the admin page. I took the extra step of uninstalling my antivirus/firewall program and logging in to no effect.
I can access the internet and have no issues in viewing any website. The only time I have been able to access the modem router admin page since the last Windows 10 update is when I start windows in Safe Mode with networking. Refer message below:

Your Internet access is blocked
Firewall or antivirus software may have blocked the connection.

Try:

• Checking the connection
• Checking firewall and antivirus configurations
• Running Windows Network Diagnostics

Check your Internet connection
Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems or other network devices you may be using.

Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.

If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
