Windows 10: ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED

I'm trying to use some the proxy settings having issues.When I use the manual proxy setting, with an IP and Port filled in. When the off toggle is turned the on position I lose the internet connection and get the ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED.I turn it back off and it comes back. I've never used a proxy before and don't understand what is wrong?

Cant get on certain websites

For some reason I can't get on Twitch, Bit.ly, Agar.io, Slither.io, diep.io, and Steam, so instead of getting in the website it says this:

There is no Internet connection
There is something wrong with the proxy server, or the address is incorrect.

Try:

• Contacting the system admin
• Checking the proxy address
• Running Windows Network Diagnostics

so how do i fix this???

 

Only Chrome can connect to the Internet.

Thank you for replying. Here's my answers to your questions:

• It was working fine and then this problem came without any software/hardware changes. Sometimes it came back to normal and works fine,, but most of the time it's not.
• It's still present when I disable third party security programs.
• It shows like this:
  There is no Internet connection
  There is something wrong with the proxy server, or the address is incorrect.

One more thing I would like to add is that download apps like Internet Download Manager or uTorrent are working fine.

No internet connection

Hello,

I am not able to connect to internet due to some proxy issue that I am failing to figure out.

I am connecting the laptop over wifi and it show internet access but on opening the browser and trying to search anything it shows there is no internet connection. (ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED).

I have tried everything suggested over the internet including resetting network.

It seems I cant change the proxy settings because the 'Lan settings' option is greyed out and as suggested on some link I have checked the registry editor for proxy settings and there is none.

Please suggest sone work around to resolve this issue.
