Windows 10: Error 0x0000098 on Surface Go

Hello,


I was prompted to update Windows 10 on my Surface Go, and it seems to have been botched badly somehow. This is the first time an Update has ever failed for me, and so badly as well. I have no idea what to do.


Now, it gives me the following Blue Screen of Death error message on Startup:

The Boot Configuration file doesn't contain valid information for an operating system.

File: \BCD

Error code: 0x0000098

Below it is a "press the Windows key for UEFI" message, and doing so doesn't lead me to any discernible way to troubleshoot the issue further or do a restore to whatever the most previous working version of Windows I had.


Is there any way to fix this without recovery media of Windows 10?

If not, how exactly do I fix this then?

Can`t use anything to fix it - only form USB devices that i don`t have.

How can i solve the problem???

 

Boot Surface Laptop to USB - no Volume button

This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.
