    I have had several Windows Error Reports WER dumps casued by the infamous "unknown error" 0x80004005 in systemsettings.exeThat is, the system settings executable UWP app, starts, but crashes after a few seconds. After a reboot, this is fixed, until the next time.My system was fine until the latest update KB5014699 was installed, that contained various security related updates.Windows 10 has been around since 2015, and it seems that this error code has been around for years, and is OBVIUSLY a "catch-all" for whatever programming language is used in these "UWP" apps.     I have looked over many other posts about this, all with the same error code, but with a different problem.

    I have a computer thats a few years old, it has an ABIT kn8-sli motherboard, and its running off windows XP.

    I was having problem with the hard drive before I gave up on it awhile back, and now I have come back and resolved that problem, but now when I get to the login screen and type in the password it says its in need of an update, then when it asks me if I want to update I click Yes, and then it says it won't work due to error 0x80004005.

    The only operating system I have currently is windows 7. Do I need to go buy a new OS or is this recoverable?
