    I received recently a HP Omen laptop from 2016 that was brand new and came with Windows 10 preinstalled.One of the first things I did was running Windows Update as Windows 10 has version 1607, but when it tried to install update for version 20H2 I always get error 0x80004005.So far I have tried:Update drivers from laptop and graphic card manufacturersEnsure everything is OK by running diagnostic tools by computer manufacturerRun Windows troubleshooting tool for Windows UpdateRun Deploying Image Servicing dism and System File Check sfcResetting Windows Update, that implied:Stopping serv

    Error 0x80004005

    I have looked over many other posts about this, all with the same error code, but with a different problem.

    I have a computer thats a few years old, it has an ABIT kn8-sli motherboard, and its running off windows XP.

    I was having problem with the hard drive before I gave up on it awhile back, and now I have come back and resolved that problem, but now when I get to the login screen and type in the password it says its in need of an update, then when it asks me if I want to update I click Yes, and then it says it won't work due to error 0x80004005.

    The only operating system I have currently is windows 7. Do I need to go buy a new OS or is this recoverable?
