Windows 10: Error : 0x80004005

I'm unzipping a file and while doing so, I'm getting the error in the image.This is happening to each and every file I'm transferring.I am unable to unzip the file and if I click "skip" and "do this to all files", it is not transferring any files but is only copying the folders and their names.If there is anyway I can fix this issue, please guide me in doing so.

I have looked over many other posts about this, all with the same error code, but with a different problem.

I have a computer thats a few years old, it has an ABIT kn8-sli motherboard, and its running off windows XP.

I was having problem with the hard drive before I gave up on it awhile back, and now I have come back and resolved that problem, but now when I get to the login screen and type in the password it says its in need of an update, then when it asks me if I want to update I click Yes, and then it says it won't work due to error 0x80004005.

The only operating system I have currently is windows 7. Do I need to go buy a new OS or is this recoverable?
