Windows 10: Error 0x80070006 Fixes

This error keeps on popping up whenever I tried to update my devices. I've searched up a fix for it and the first tutorial to pop up is this guide of sort https://www.repairwin.com/fix-windows-10-update-error-0x80070006/. I've kept up with all the step except for the last step because I'm a bit skeptical. Please can someone tell me if these fixes are safe and work as intended, and if not, what should I do instead?

Error 0x80070006. Cannot install new apps

I have been having the exact same error in the Windows store (0x80070006). I also followed the above steps and had the same result. I still receive the same error even after following all of the steps above.

I would really like to be able to download the apps I purchased.

 

Windows 10 Upgrade Error: 0x80070006 - 0x2000c

Laptop - Dell Inspiron

Windows Version - 8.1

However the post doesn't have any solution the error code
0x80070006 - 0x2000c

So it is requested that Microsoft engineers should not ask to see that page again.

Did all the three steps required i.e.

• Fixed Hard Disk and OS Errors
• Disconnected non-essential devices attached to your computer
• Disabled the anti-virus software

Still I am not to upgrade to Windows 10

Other facts-

• I am eligible to receive the free upgrade (The Windows 10 icon is appearing in the notifications)
• There no pending important updates in the 'Windows Update' section.
• I am upgrading by using DVD in which I have burned the ISO downloaded from Windows website

0x80070006 error when trying to check for updates

Hi Mohammad,

This error code "0x80070006" may have happened due to Windows Update running in its own process.

To change the status of Windows Update process, please follow these steps:

• Right click Windows icon at the bottom right side.
• Select Command Prompt (Admin)
• Type "sc config wuauserv type= share" without double quote.
• Press Enter.
• Reboot your PC then try to install Windows updates.

Please let us know the result after running the command.
