Windows 10: Error 0x800700CE: Filename or extension too long error

Hello, I use the computer a lot. There was an error in Windows 10. Error 0x800700CE: Filename or extension too long error I changed it to windows 11 and it did not work again.1. It happens in every folder.2.System new3. It happened in every folder and when I reset it. I can't name the folder, but I can do it from winrar.

This error keeps persisting. Please help.

2 days ago I purchased a retail key for windows 10 and installed it on my PC (It worked well). Today I installed bitdefender antivirus software and uninstalled previous antivirus software and updated windows from v1903 to v2004. Then I tried creating a folder
and tried to rename it, it didn't work and threw this error at me. I tried renaming files, that worked perfectly well and I could rename any file. I could even rename a shortcut. But just the folders, I am unable to rename. I tried every setting in forums
and googled everything I could, literally tried everything and didn't find a solution to this. Do I have to format my PC (I really don't want to do it)?

Can anyone solve this problem?

Hmm. Either it's put out errors and WCG is limiting the work units available, or the project list may not be set to supply other WU when one runs out. (if the problem lies here and not on your end)

On the options to your left, if you go into Results Status, select the computer from Device Name and then look through results see if either they were returned late, errors or any other kind of issue that would stop the servers supplying WU from that perspective.

If there are no errors then it's maybe down to your project list. So selecting Device Manager from the left menu and then clicking on the profile assigned to that computer and make sure that it's assigned to receive WU for other projects if they run out.

At least those steps will rule out problems from the WCG end.

 

getting error 0x800700ce installing app windows 10 mobile, 950xl, plex

I'm seeing the same problem. 0x800700CE is the Windows error ERROR_FILENAME_EXCED_RANGE. It looks like they are deploying a file or files that will exceed the max length of a path in the file system.
