  1. Error 0x8007025D on clean install of Windows 10

    I'm losing it.

I've been trying to install windows 10 for the past 12 hours and it simply refuses to work. I'm using a USB to install Windows 10 onto my newly built computer, as I don't have a disc drive. The setup program gets to the stage where it's supposed to be copying the files or whatever, and after getting to like 5% it gives me error 0x8007025D. It's done this every time.

There is no related help whatsoever anywhere on the internet, none that I can find at any rate. The closest related discussions suggested re-downloading it because maybe somehow I got corrupted files put onto the USB, or somehow I didn't get them all.

I should mention, I used Microsoft's Media Creation Tool to put the files on the USB (again, 3 different times) so I don't understand how there could possibly be missing or corrupted files unless Microsoft released a faulty program to do the install with.

I'm beyond sick and tired of this. My computer is using modern parts and stuff, it's beyond compatible with the OS, so it's not a hardware issue. all of my components and such are attached correctly and detected by my computer, so it can't be there.

I have a headache and I have no patience left, so please forgive me if I come across as demanding or rude. If you need any more information, please ask, and I will provide it.

    Please help.

    :)

Error 0x8007025D on clean install of Windows 10

Does the computer have USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 slots? Try using the USB 2.0 (black insert) slot. Also is the USB flash drive you are using USB 3.0 or 2.0? If it is a 3.0 flash drive, try using a USB 2.0 flash drive- even if you only have USB 3.0 slots to insert it in. Also at least one user reported that removing one or more sticks of RAM during the install did it. How much RAM do you have installed? Try going down to the minimum RAM for the install.

Unrelated note - if this is a Windows 10 virgin computer, how do you plan on activating Windows 10 after install?

  5. I do have both 2.0 and 3.0 slots. I'll try the other USB ports, thanks.
Tbh I'm not sure if my USB is 2.0 or 3.0.

I've just got the one stick of RAM, nothing to do there.

Uh, as for the activation, I have no idea. I assumed it would just... Go? After being installed.
I'm not really sure what's being asked. I have the activation code, if that's what you mean?

Windows 10 will not automatically activate on a computer that has never had Windows 10 on it before. If you have a retail activation code that you paid for, then you can use that to activate it. If you have just the generic Windows 10 product key that comes from upgrading from Windows 7/8/8.1 then that won't help you much.

Until you activate Windows 10, certain features (such as personalization) will not work and it will continue to nag you to activate Windows more frequently as time goes on.

  7. Ah. Yeah no I'm good there, I have the code I need to activate it.

Trying the different USB ports didn't work, unfortunately. (It is a USB 3.0 flash drive btw, figured it out.) Additionally, now I can't get it to even go into the installation screen anymore. The computer recognizes that there's a USB plugged in, but I guess the commands or whatever on it aren't working anymore? I just get the "There is no OS installed, blah blah remove peripherals and restart your computer" screen.

I'm gonna download it to the USB again (goodbye, another hour of my life) and... well, I don't know. hope for the best, I guess. I'll try and burn it to a disc, and borrow a USB CD drive tomorrow.
