Windows 10: Error 0x80070490 when trying to install games from Xbox PC app

Hello,I have the PC Xbox app and previously it was working normally, but recently whenever I try to install anything it stops immediately with error code 0x80070490. I have tried all the steps on the troubleshooting page restart, update everything, reinstall the gaming services. Windows Update and the Microsoft store seem to be behaving normally, it's just the Xbox app specifically that's giving me trouble. I contacted Xbox support and we tried a few additional troubleshooting steps, but I'm still having the same problem so they sent me here.

Error 0x80070490 on Xbox application

Hello,

The Xbox application for Windows is driving me crazy.

From one day to the next, without any intervention on my part, the slightest installation or attempt to update a game on it or from the store sends me back the error "0x80070490".

I've tried TONS of solutions:

Step 1) Login with same account on Store and Xbox App, make sure date, time, time zone and region are correct

Step 2) If installing from Xbox App try installing the it from Microsoft Store library, if using store then try installing game from Xbox App

Step 3) Run this powershell command Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

Step 4) Delete Microsoft Store Local Cache Files C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe

Step 5) Repair/reset Xbox App/Store

Step 6) Update Xbox App/Store from store library

Step 7) Install Xbox identity provider and Gaming services YouTube Uninstall remains of gaming service get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers Install Gaming service: start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Step 8) Start all these services IP Helper Xbox Live Auth Manager Xbox Live Game Save Xbox Live Networking Service Gaming services Windows Update Microsoft install service

Step 9) Update Windows

Step 10) Run WSRESET command

Step 11) Uninstall and reinstall Xbox App/Store Get-AppxPackage -allusers WindowsStore | Remove-AppxPackage Reboot your computer Get-AppxPackage -allusers WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

Step 12) Try installing to C drive/Different Drive, Rename the WpSystem and WindowsApps folder

But NONE of them worked. And I have absolutely no desire to reformat my computer...

Xbox PC App Error

We appreciate your response and cooperation regarding this matter. Based on your reply, it appears that you need to enable the Xbox services to ensure that the app is up and running. You may follow the steps below to enable Xbox Live services:

• Press the Start button and type Services on the search box.
• On the list of services, look for Xbox Live Auth Manager,
  Xbox Live Game Save, and Xbox Live Networking Service.

The next steps should be done to the three mentioned services above:

• Right click on the service and select Properties.
• Set the Startup type to Automatic. If the service isn't started, click
  Start.
• Save the changes.
• Launch the Xbox App and sign in to your account again.

Let us know if you are able to sign in after performing the suggested solutions above.

 

Error 0x80070005 when attempting to install a game on PC from Xbox app

Can provide us the version Xbox app you are currently using?

On the other hand, try the steps provided by another member here in community which gave the same error as yours. Here are the steps:

• Open the Settings app (the gear in the start menu)
  
• Open Accounts
  
• Click Sign-in Options
  
• Scroll down to Privacy
  
• Uncheck "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update and restart."
  
• Restart your device
