Windows 10: Error 0x8007066f, can't install updates.

I'm trying to install updates, but I get an Error 0x8007066f and when I researched it and ran the FixIt, the result was "service registration is missing or corrupt" with a status of "Not Fixed" Anything else I can do to fix this?

Tried to install Win 10 updates for Office 2007 and got the following:

• Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2825645) - Error 0x8007066f

• Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2837610) - Error 0x8007066f

• Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB3054888) - Error 0x8007066f

• Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB3054890) - Error 0x8007066f

Tried several times over several days. Turned off Virus protection and firewall on the off chance and no luck.

Windows troubleshooting led me to a program that executed from Microsoft site and gave me the following results:

Problems found

Windows update components must be repaired. Fixed Followed by a green check mark.

Unfortunately not fixed. Suggestions appreciated.

 

Update error 0x8007066f in Windows 10

I just upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10. The process was remarkably smooth.

I checked into the automatic updates to insure that they were working correctly.

I found that the auto-update had install a couple of updates without a problem.

BUT two updates have failed several times:

KB2965208

KB2965210

[both are Microsoft Office Compatibility pacs]

The error code is: 0x8007066f

Windows 10 automatic update keeps trying to install these two updates and keeps listing the failures. In earlier versions of Windows, I could "hide" this update. How do I work around this problem?

Create a Windows 10 install DVD or USB stick with the Media Creation Tool - just make sure to get the exact same version of Windows 10 that you have. Do not boot from the DVD or USB stick - just put it in with your Windows 10 running. Run setup.exe from the USB or DVD and do an in place "upgrade" of Windows 10 to Windows 10. It should not ask you for a product key - if it does you know you have the wrong version of Windows 10 on the USB or DVD.

 

I did that the problem still remains.

 

Actually, scratch what I said earlier. I just took a look at my update history and it seems that my regular updates are fine...but my updates to Office 2013 are all failing.

 

Solved the issue. I somehow had two Office 2013 installed. Got rid of one of them and the updates installed fine on the other.
