    error 0x800f0845 with January 14 windows update...are people still having problem...


    Below is a question I asked about the January 14, 2020—KB4528760 update and the error I got. Has there been any update on this issue? Have people been able to resolved it since then?



    The download the update and restarted my pc once I was prompted to do so. But then the pc didn't restart it shutdown. I turned it back on again and I got a BSOD error saying it needed to restart my pc and it was collecting information. Then my computer turned off again. By the third try the pc started and it said it was trying to diagnose and repair the issue...then it showed that the update could not be installed and that it was uninstalling the update. Once I was back into windows and checked the update history it shows the update failed to install and it shows the error 0x800f0845.

    Windows 8 and updates after January 14, 2020

    Can I upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 instead of Windows 10? And if so, will I still be able to get Windows updates and technical support for Windows 8 after January 14, 2020?
