  1. Error 0xc1900101 while updating, have already removed everything not needed

I've been dealing with problem while trying to get update 20H2 and 2004. 20H2 produced error code 0xc1900101 and 2004 produced 0x800704c7:

Error 0xc1900101 while updating, have already removed everything not needed a8d6fb48-5b2c-4f15-849a-f52788565e91?upload=true.png

I've watched and the update seems to get around 57% before it stops, restarts, roll back the update, and restarts again to normal Windows desktop. Every time I restart and it fails to update, I end up with a phantom drive in Explorer that I can't access. They go away with subsequent restart or using diskpart command to remove drive letter until the next attempt to update

The first error code is driver issues but that is what has me flummoxed. I have already disconnected all of USB except for keyboard and mouse, and even removed internal hardware save for a video card and SSD. I am using Asus Prime x570 Pro, AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, Sapphire Pulse 5700 XT, 32GB RAM, a SSD on M.2 slot as the boot drive and another SSD on SATA port for other stuff. No overclocking at all, the system is running on default setting.

Nothing else is installed and I still got the error message which suggest either Windows install file had bad driver or incompatible driver for my computer that is not even 1 year old. Stuff that I removed to rule out problems: LSI SAS/SATA RAID card with 8 mechanical hard drives, 2 USB printers, film scanner, and DVD drive.

I've searched and have seen guides for deleting windows install to force redownloading, resetting some files, and even deleted the entire hidden folder. Nothing has changed!

What is left to do? I am using Windows 10 Pro. Originally the key was Windows 7 Pro key I bought from Newegg long ago, upgraded to 10 a few years ago. This computer was completely rebuilt with new CPU, RAM, motherboard, and video card over the summer with a clean install of Windows. I know the problem is not from 8 year old residual file due to clean install on a fresh blank drive. The only things I copied from old Windows of previous system were the document and download. All apps were downloaded and installed, not copied over.

EDIT I've tried the built in troubleshooter, it is unable to do anything meaning Windows does not know why the install fails. This has been failing for about 2 weeks now.

    :)

  3. Unable to upgrade one of the system to Windows 10 Update Error 0xC1900101 - 0x20004

Thank you for the reply. I read both of those threads already.

    1. Resetting BIOS. I flashed BIOS to the latest version. Currently running default settings. No change.

    2. Andre da Costa brings up a list of reasons. For error 0xC1900101-0x20017 he says refer to error 0xc000021a.

2a. Regarding his troubleshooting steps for error 0xc000021a. He says to wipe the drive and switch from NTFS to GPT. This is incorrect. If this was true, then no one could update from Windows 7 to Windows 10 without a clean install. Beyond which, I updated
my first desktop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 when it was running Windows 7 on NTFS.

2b. Regarding his additional troubleshooting steps for error 0xC1900101-0x20017. He has a number of suggestions, such as disabling peripherals. I tried all of these for both .iso and USB installs. No luck.

    Any other suggestions?
