Windows 10: Error 1009 and there was a problem resetting your pc

So im a game dev and i had no storage on my pc for my game so i decided to reset my pc I tried it gave me the error “there was a problem resetting your pc, no changes were made” so then i opened admin cmd prompt and typed reagentc /disable and then enable both operation successful, tried resetting it it didn’t work so then i reopened cmd prompt admin and typed “sfc /scannow” it gives me the error “Windows Resorce Protection could not preform the requested operation” so then I tried "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth", it said “The Configuration Registry Database is Corrupt” can so

Can't reset my pc

Hello... I need assistance in resetting my laptop to factory setting and everytime I go to reset my pc in my bios, a message pops up saying can't reset pc. Some peoples suggest to run dism /online /cleanup-image / restorehealth under cmd prompt as administrator and when I did that I get a error code 1009, registry database is corrupted. I don't have a copy of the window 10 with me as it came with the laptop and I had this labtop many years ago.

The version of the window I am currently running is, 20H2, (OS Build 19042.1237)

Appreciated if someone can provide a step by step guide and thanks in advance for the help.

 

Error 1009 in the cmd prompt

Hi, I'm currently having an issue with fully resetting my computer. Here are all the steps to try and fix it I have done so far:

1: First of all, when I try and do a full reset of the computer, it restarts my computer and then starts the reset, stays at 1% completion and then goes to the "automatic repair" windows menu, and says:

"There was a problem resetting this PC, no changes were made"

I tried a couple times to do it and it always resulted in the same thing.

2: Next I tried to do a "sfc /scannow" command in the cmd prompt, however the message I received was this:
C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow



Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.





Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

3: After looking online for a while on forums and doing the "chkdsk" command, I tried to input this in:
C:\Windows\system32>DISM /ONLINE /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

The configuration registry database is corrupt.



The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

4: Now I did do another step, which was to do a "chkdsk c: /r" which fully analyses and repairs my c: drive, however doing that was unsuccessful in repairing the problem encoutered in step 3.

After looking at what "Error: 1009" means, it seems I need to reinstall my windows with a version booted from a USB key? I'm really not digging the idea of doing that just to try and reset it AGAIN later, but if that's what it takes I will do it. Please anyone let me know if you have any fixes that you see that I have not tried.

router logs DoS attack from a local PC....

Well you did not say that you don't really know what you are doing. It's not a problem of course, but it changes things a little.

It's not even clear if the PC or the router is the problem at this time, so I suggested that you disable some unnecessary things which are usually known to cause many problems, sorry if those were too complicated.

• You could reset some network related stuffz on the PC as a next step. Open an elevated command prompt (run as administrator), and enter the followings on the PC:
  netsh int ip reset reset.log
  netsh int ipv6 reset
  netsh winsock reset
  netsh branchcache reset
  netsh advfirewall reset
  (note: You can export your current firewall rules in the "group policy" before the reset if it's needed for some reason)
  
  
• Btw, Would it be a problem to reset the router to the default settings if the things we are trying will not help? There is a menu point for that called "factory settings" (and also a little hole on the back if you prefer that one).. the Administrator username in the router after the reset would be admin and the password is probably on a sticker at the bottom of the router (special settings needed to go online with your ISP might be also necessary)
  This is not needed now (not yet), but perhaps the source of the problem is at the router and not the PC in question, so we may come to that eventually.

ps.: Do you have a second network card you could test in that PC and a different cable to rule out some hardware issues on the PC side?
