Windows 10: Error 1706

Hi



After an automatic windows update, we get errors in one of our application.
When we use a function that have an ActiveX.

We get these error messeges:










Any suggestions on what to do to make it work again?

Solved! Shredder Error 1706

After two days of searching and trying to resolved the problem of Windows Installer trying to install Shredder and saying shredder.msi is missing - Error 1706, I found the solution:

Go to: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...lock-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed

Download and install "Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter"

Run the program and indicate you are having problems INSTALLING a program. A list of programs will come up, including "Shredder". You may even have 2 copies of Shredder (I did).

In each case, the program will give you the option of uninstalling Shredder. I did so in both cases and the problem is completely resolved.

 

Error 1706 - Missing Scan.msi file for HP Solution Center


Windows: 'Error 1706' Displays on the Computer While Scanning - missing Scan.msi.

I followed these instructions http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01007968.

When I get to the last step and double-click on it, it flashes but does not install.

What am I doing wrong?
I know you need Flash, which I installed yesterday.

It wanted Admin Permissions. Why it didn't ask earlier, I do not know.

Bernina Embroidery software v7 includes CorelDRAW Essentials and it will not install due to error 1706

I have been trying to install my Bernina Embroidery software which comes with CorelDraw Essentials x 6. The embroideru software

installs to Windows 10 fine but not the CorelDraw part of the software. What occurs is message Error #1706 cannot find.... etc.

I've received help from other users but in the end what has been suggested is that I reset or reinstall Window 10. I wonder if anyone would be able to suggest any alternative solutions to reinstalling Windows 10 upgrade again. Thanks.
