    While trying to repair a 3rd party application in Windows 10 64 bit based system, I am encountered with the following error message:

    Error 1720 while updating program

    If you are getting same error "Error 1720: There is a problem with this windows Installer Packages" after executing "rundll32 wbemupgd, UpgradeRepository" command from command line, remove entries of "Nokia Software Updater" by searching in the registry.
    To invoke registry you need to execute "regedit" command from Windows Start -> Run.



    After removing all the entries of "Nokia Software Updater", reboot PC and then install Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater.



    I followed same steps and i am successful in installing latest version i.e. v1.8.10en.

    Error 1720

    Hi,

    I am trying to install a software package onto a brand new HP machine with W10 Pro.

    every time I keep getting an error 1720," there is a problem with this Window installer."

    I have tried all the solutions I can find on the internet but none are working for me.

    the only thing I haven't tried and would prefer not to is to reinstall windows.
