Windows 10: Error 1935 during installation of assembly (MS Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable)

I am trying to reinstall Nuance Paperport 14 on my Win 10 system after Windows reset. This program previously worked, but it was on a system that had been upgraded to Win 10 on top of a previous Win 8 installation. When Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable is run, it fails with the message:

Error 1935: An error occurred during the installation of assembly.

'Microsoft VC.80.CRT,type="win32",version=8.0.50727.4053",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64".

Nuance's knowledgebase suggests turning off my antivirus and firewall. I have done so with no success. Tried a sfc /scannow but it showed no corrupted files. Any ideas?

Error 1935 Microsoft C++ Visual 2005 Redistributable


Hey guys, I'm kind of desperate for help. A lot of the programs I want to run require the Microsoft C++ Visual 2005 Redistributable, but I keep running into error 1935. I've tried running a clean boot, editing the RegistrySizeLimit, and running the installation in compatibility mode for Windows XP. I don't know what else to do and neither does Microsoft support.

Hello,
I've trying in many ways to solve this error and after 1 day I haven't managed yet to avoid it. I want to install MATLAB2014 in my laptop (windows 10 Pro, x64) and beginning the installation it tries to install the Microsoft Visual redistributable C++ 2005 (I have on my computer 2010 and 2013 versions already installed, do I really need the 2005 one?). If I try to install it manually it happens the same as well as with the 2008 version.
This is what appears over and over again




I've tried many things that I have seen around the Internet.....and nothing. Is there any real solution? I getting really angry with windows 10 by now......
