Windows 10: Error 43 with Nvidia Geforce GT-420 card with latest driver 391.35.

I can run this card in Windows 10 Pro 64 bit version 1709, but it crashes with Error 43 in version 1809. Tried uninstalling drivers with DDU and reinstalling. No luck. I want a two monitor display and in 1809, the system will install a Microsoft generic driver and I can get a usable 1920 x 1080 display.

Onboard GPU is Intel HD 680 with latest driver.


Any suggestions?

Hi All,

I have a problem with my Nvidia graphic card , GeForce 840M. It keeps saying error code 43 eventhough I have updated the bios, uninstall and reinstall back the driver, and reinstall back the driver from nvidia. My laptop is originally equipped with windows
8.1 single language. This thing happens after I have updated my laptop to windows 10. I have tried uninstalling the driver many times, but no luck.

My specification of my laptop are as follows:

Intel core i7 4510U

Ram 8GB

Nvidia GeForce 840M graphic card.

I finally managed to find a solution that worked for me (at least for now):

1. Download Display Driver Uninstaller and the latest NVIDIA Drivers for my card. The OEM drivers will not work!!
   
2. Reboot into Safe Mode and uninstall the PhysX Engine and the GeForce Experience.
   
3. Reflash BIOS to known working version. (Thank you NVIDIA Forums!)
   
4. Boot into regular mode and install the NVIDIA drivers and all the related software.
   

Apparently ASUS laptops have an issue where BIOS updates and Windows 10 can sometimes cause Code 43s to appear.

In my specific case, I even had to go back to BIOS version 214 for the Asus Q550LF. The flash utility would not accept an older BIOS, so I had to force it with winflash /nodate bios.214 (src).

I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Nvidia GeForce graphic card
driver from the manufacturer website and check, if it works. Refer to the following steps to uninstall the
Nvidia GeForce graphic card driver from the Device Manager.



a. Click on Windows key + X key and then, select Device Manager.

b. Locate and expand “Display Adaptor” in the Device Manager Window.

c. Right-click on the “Display Adaptor” and click on “uninstall" the
Nvidia GeForce graphic card driver.

d. Restart the computer and check, if it works.
