    Missing Files - Dism.exe Error 87

    Hi

    Im having the same issue. I tried the directions you gave Larry

    Sfc reported no errors so I moved onto the next step.

    Dism cane back with error 87

    The online/cleanup-image is unknown.

    For more information refer to the help by running dism.exe/?

    I did run that and found an online option to which i also recieved an error code 87

    Not sure where to go from here.

    Restore error 87 with Macrium

    Macrium's forum states this is a Windows-produced error number, not one known to Macrium. Two suggestions about possible 3rd party programs interfering with Macrium. E.g. security software. Backup aborted! - Unable to read from disk - Error Code 87 - The parameter is incorrect Try disabling any such program. You may well find it easier to perform the restoration by creating MR's bootable disk, booting your PC from that, and then performing the restore. That way Windows isn't running or trying to use the partition you are restoring. (Naturally you can't restore C: whilst Windows is running).
