Windows 10: Error activating windows 10 laptop with key from BIOS

Hello I am trying to install windows 10 on a Lenovo x260 that has the key on its bios and it wont let me activate.


In the activation section of settings I get error 0xC004C060.




Choosing to troubleshoot gets me this screen

Ive searched all over for a solution but the only path that seems open to me is stating that I changed hardware which I thought was for when retail owners change their motherboard, this is a laptop with the key bound to its bios so surely that does not apply here. Any help would be appreciated.

The key i find when doing this command

wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey

which i found on this page

states that the key (R9CT) is for "Win 10 RTM Professional OEMM"

Is there installation media for this version, if so where do i find it?

Windows 10 will not activate Error code 0x803F7001


Possibly there can be the problem with Microsoft activation Server, so your Windows 10 is not activated. In this scenario, you need to wait and verify if it is the issue from Microsoft’s side. But if you are getting error code 0x803f7001, you can also try these steps:

1. Open Settings app. Then go to Update and security > Activation screen > Change product.
2. Type your Windows edition product key and click Next.
3. You’ll get We couldn’t activate Windows error message.
4. Retry steps 1-3 then type your 25-characters unique product key.
5. Wait for the process to complete, Windows 10 is activated.

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.
