Hello All,


I am trying to uninstall a application which i am unable to do due to the below error , there is a thread locked on the same issue, i followed the same steps but still the issue exists, can you please help me on this issue Thanks in Advance, Please let me know in case you need additional details.

Thank you. I have done all you suggest, disabled all Services and Startups (excluding Windows services) and restarted, but I am still getting the error

“Another application has exclusive access to the file ‘C:\Users\Stuart\ntuser.dat’

.dat. Please shut down all other applications, then click Retry”



How do I find and disable whatever application has exclusive access to ntuser.dat?

 

Associate .dat files to NotePad

Hi Rick

Right click a dat file, choose 'Open With' - Choose Another App

Important - Check the box marked 'Always use this app to open dat . . .'

If Notepad is not in the list, scroll to the bottom and click 'More Apps'

Again if Notepad is not in the list, at the bottom, click 'Look for another app on this PC', then navigate to find the Notepad application in C:\Windows\System32

Hi,

As well as the 3 ntuser files listed, there are 5 ntuser.dat(*****).regtrans-ms files and 2 ntuser,dat(*****).blf files.

Do I copy those as well or unselect them like the 3 you listed?
