Windows 10: Error booting from external drive

Hello. So i cloned my ssd to an external hdd and when i try to boot from the external hdd i get a stopcode INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error.

Talked to windows support and they said it’s a hardware compatibility issue but i’d like a few other opinions if possible. It doesn’t make sense to me how it would cause an error even though i’ve gone from hdd to ssd before. I’ve already changed the boot priority, unplugged external hardware, updated bios. I’ll probably try updating drivers next but i’m not too familiar with the concept i’m not very tech-savvy beyond the average person.

But if you’ve read this far my main problem is trying to figure out if i can boot from my cloned hdd without having to do a fresh install of windows.

• Just to confirm, the device that is not working properly is a external DVD optical drive?

• Have you tried to plug the external drive to a different port on your computer?

External Hard Drive

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

Can't Access Either of My External Drives After 14393

• Go to Device Manager.
• Click on USB Mass Storage.
• Right click on your USB, and then click on Update Driver Software.
• Once done, check if you can access your external drives.
