Windows 10: error code 0x000000f

Using an older computer with no internet connection. Upon booting with an older HDD connected via USB I received this error, 0x000000f. This was listed as well as some sig importance, File:\Boot\BCD. I am using windows 10 updated from windows 7. I have a valid windows 7 cd to reinstall from. will this work without losing my files? The only internet connection I have is from a public library. Is there a tool or file I can download to a USB drive to correct this problem? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

i've already installed windows 10 in my hpr203tx. now its showing error code 0x000000f error code

i am not getting any solutions please suggest.

 

BIOS error codes

So I have motherboard with installed small LED screen, which presents BIOS error codes.

Where can I find a list of those errors. And I don't mean beep codes, but the "number" codes.

Ex after installing sound card, the motherboard startup fails with the code 15.

Error 0x000000f and can't recover?


I'm upgrading my laptop from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10. It shut down, got into the installation screen and last I checked it was at 25% before it crashed and now I'm getting an error code 0x000000f and it's saying it doesn't have access to required files or device. If I press F9 for recovery options it makes the screen refresh, and then if I hit enter after that it comes up with a new error, 0x0000225 and says file \WINDOWS\system32\winload.exe is either missing or contains errors.

If I hit F9 again it goes to a repair screen for Windows 7. System Restore doesn't find any restore points, System Image Recovery can't find a system image. There's files on the drive I don't want to lose, so I would really like to resolve this without reformatting everything and trying again.
