    Error code 0x80042405 - 0xA001B


    Hi, I've been getting an error (0x80042405 - 0xA001B) I've tried to using windows installation media tool, but I got an error trying to write the installation media to the a flash drive. I've tried many different format for the drive. The process gets to 99% then fails. Is there a way to fix this problem?

    I received this error code when setting up the Windows 10 bootable USB: 0x80042405 - 0xA001B

    I'm not sure what it is. I've formatted a 32GB USB to FAT32, run the installer off of the USB, and run the program as an Administrator.

    Nothing seems to work.

    The installer stops at the "Verifying" step at 50%.

    Any help/insight would be appreciated!

    You can confirm that the usb is not gpt using Diskpart. The command LIST DISK will have a * in the gpt column for any disk or usb that is gpt,

    Media Creation Tool v1903 Error 0x80042405-0xA001B


    Why am I getting Error 0x80042405-0xA001B during the stage it tries to format the USB flash drive after it finishes downloading Windows 10? This happens at around 50% when creating installation media. The only workaround is to download the ISO and use Rufus to write the ISO. This is not a fix but is only a workaround.
