Windows 10: ERROR CODE 0x80070035 WHEN TRYING TO ACCESS FILES FROM ANOTHER LAPTOP ON THE SAME HOME NETWORK

hello, I am trying to access another laptop on my home network and I keep receiving the error code 0x80070035, "YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO ACCESS"

Hi,
I am unable to access one of three computers on my local network via File Explorer
I can access the other two and I can access a network local external drive.
The error is :
error code 0x80070035 the network path was not found
This expands into:
one or more network protocols are missing on this computer
windows sockets registry entries required for netork connectivity are missing
The post from SimBy in Network Protocols says to disable netbios over TCP/IP.

Does someone have a suggestion for me?

Cannot access PC on my network - Error 0x80070035

I have a network of two laptops. Both have the same, up to date version of W10 Home, same up to date copy of Avast Security.

Up until I went on holidays a couple of weeks ago, each laptop could see the other laptop on the network, both networks were set to Private and printers and files could easily be accessed and modified in both directions. I don't use any homegroups.

Now it only works in one direction.

After returning from holidays, and starting computers, one of the laptops had changed to a public network. All possibilities noted in various fixes for this on many help forums on the net for 0x80070035 to change the network type to Private were unavailable
- Network reset didn't work - no opportunity to allow file sharing when connecting to a 'new' network was offered. In Settings->Network and Internet->WiFi->manage known Networks->properties, there is no switch public-private. The only way I could set to private
was by regedit, but that still doesn't fix my problems.

The laptop which can no longer see folders on the other laptop can see the computer; it is listed with the correct name in File Explorer->Network, but when the laptop name is selected, a popup message Network Error, Windows cannot access\\ComputerName, check
the spelling etc., there might be a problem with the network etc, and gives error code 0x80070035. The network diagnostic tool finds no problem.

After spending a day chasing my tail, I'm at wit's end.

Any suggestions?

 

Error 0x80070035 The Network Path Was Not Found

I'm having an issue connecting to a fresh install of Windows 10 Home, from a Windows 10 Pro Laptop.

I have set up a bunch of shares on the desktop (computer name HTPC), and can access them from that computer directly when I navigate to \\HTPC.

However, when I try to connect from my laptop (on the same network), it shows up on the list of devices in my network, but when I try to open it, I get the Error 0x80070035 The Network Path Was Not Found.

Any suggestions?

I've already turned off password protected sharing (I want these files totally open to anyone on network). I am trying to avoid the use of a homegroup, as there are other non-windows devices which will eventually need to connect as well.
