Windows 10: Error code 0x80070570

I am trying to transfer a large file from my external disk drive to a USB 1TB memory stick. This file contains all my photographs and I just want to have a secondary copy in case my machine packs up. I keep getting the Error code 0x80070570 on some files, which incidentally can be viewed on screen without a problem. Please advise how I can overcome this problem.
