Windows 10: Error code 0x800705B4 of Windows activation issue after using Microsoft's Fresh Start to...

2 things needed to be looked into as regards to Microsoft's online Fresh Start / re-installation of Windows.


First of all, I am having Windows activation problem since I used the library's free wi-fi to do a fresh start (re-installation) of Windows. The error code is 0x800705B4. I've been trying to use the Virtual Agent several times to resolve the issue. But it's useless. It'll just eventually say it'll try to find someone to fix the issue, but it never did. I'm stuck. Any help???


Secondly, the Fresh Start did fix the messing up problem of the special characters (i.e., some missing, some swap around, and some repeated). But it did not resolve the need to wipe clean the memory on the hard drive caused by the virus attack. I thought re-installation of Windows will wipe clean the mother board/memory?


Anyone care to share his/her experience of using Fresh Start to re-install Windows? Do you bump into the same problem?

Fresh Windows 10 Activation/Update Issue 0x800705B4


Hello,

I just did a fresh installation of Windows 10 Pro, because of issues with Windows Update not being able to update the system.
I tried everything I could find on google but finally gave in and figured a fresh install would solve the problem.
Now after the fresh install my windows is unable to activate (0x800705B4) and Windows Update is not working (just keeps searching).

I'm seeing the same errors as I did before the fresh install in the Event Viewer which is an error with DistributedCOM:

The error in Event Viewer is outputted every 2 minutes exactly, I'm assuming this is Windows Update trying to find updates.

I've also tried running SFC and DISM, and I bypassed my router in case that's causing the connection issues between me and Microsoft.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm seriously starting to lose faith in Microsoft.

Windows 10 will not activate Error code 0x803F7001


Possibly there can be the problem with Microsoft activation Server, so your Windows 10 is not activated. In this scenario, you need to wait and verify if it is the issue from Microsoft’s side. But if you are getting error code 0x803f7001, you can also try these steps:

1. Open Settings app. Then go to Update and security > Activation screen > Change product.
2. Type your Windows edition product key and click Next.
3. You’ll get We couldn’t activate Windows error message.
4. Retry steps 1-3 then type your 25-characters unique product key.
5. Wait for the process to complete, Windows 10 is activated.
