    Error Code: 0x800b010f when trying to add email account to Mail


    The title basically says it all. I'm trying to add a gmail account to my Mail. I'm on Windows 10 Home 64bit, if that helps any.

    unable to add gmail account to mail folder of newly upgraded windows 10 error code 0x800b010f

    I am trying to add all my email accounts to MAIL folder of Windows 10. My gmail account flashes for a second and immediately error comes 'unable to connect... followed by error code 0x800b010f. Kindly guide how to add the same. Other than adding to mail
    folder google account and other services are working fine. Just I want to keep all my mail accounts at one place , the new feature in Windows 10.

    windows 10 mail app showing error code: 0x800b010f

    I RECENTLY UPGRADED MY LAPTOP FROM WINDOWS 8.1 PRO TO WINDOWS 10 BUT THE NEW MAIL APP IS NOT ACCEPTING MY GMAIL ACCOUNT EVERY TIME I TRY TO ADD MY EMAILIT IS SHOWING AN ERROR CODE : 0x800b010f.

    PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

    I went this route and added passwords for yahoo mail. I might try this method above to get gmail to buck up! *Tongue

    @Bastet, this is probably what you were referring to the whole time.


    YAHOO MAIL FIX
    2FA needs to be enabled which it already was and just follow these steps below.

    1. In yahoo mails account security, click on manage app passwords.

    2. After selecting other app and entering the new app name in the text box

    3. Now, in Windows 10 mail app, add this type of account.

    4. In Windows 10 mail app, enter your details and the password generated by step 2.

    Fully functional mail app again.
