Windows 10: Error code 0xc0000098 and winload.efi is missing or corrupted

Hey there. I have a laptop that uses windows 11 and I tried to optimize it a bit a month ago. It didn’t really work imo so I tried to restore it to the previous restore point I created before I did any optimizations. But it turns out that it doesn’t revert the changes I made on the registry. It started lagging and the screen froze and then I get the bsod. I tried repairing it using windows repair tool but nothing works. So I just made the decision to wipe out my drive using cmd and just install a fresh copy of windows using a usb flash drive. But whenever I try to boot up the installer I get m

The the 0xc0000098 error can appear due to a corrupted BCD (Boot Configuration Data) file. This can be due to a change in the hardware. There is also a possibility that Windows files or the hard drive was damaged on some cases. In this case, we suggest to boot
from windows 10 installation disc and kindly follow the steps provided by

Windows 11 winload efi missing, F8 button not working

Hello,

My HP is not starting up. I’ve received the ‘winload efi is missing or corrupt’. All the troubleshoot steps require me to go into startup settings but in order for me to do that, I have to press F8 however when I do press it my screen flashes and it doesn’t take me there (this is on the blue ‘recovery’ screen with the error message). Can anyone help me please. I need to get back into my laptop. I can’t afford to reinstall the OS. Too much important files and data that I didn’t back up unfortunately ��.
