Windows 10: Error code 80090016 Trusted Platform Module has malfunctioned Office 365 Error

Hello fellow Windows users/experts,I'm experiencing this error code 80090016 out of the blue constantly at my organization. I Know the work-around is to remove and re-add the work/school accounts via Settings, and that seems to resolve the issue. My question is, how can I prevent this from happening all the time? What could be the root cause of all this? thanks for any ideas, answers, or input of any kind. -TheGermXX

Something went wrong error code 80090016 - what do I do to fix?

Trying to sign into One Drive on Word on my desktop to upload changes. This error message came up:

"Something went wrong. Your computer's Trusted Platform Module has malfunctioned. If this error persists, contact your system administrator with the error code 80090016."

How do I resolve this problem?

I have no issues logging into my Surface; however, Office 365 and OneDrive will not log into account. I use my username and PW and when I click continue I get the error code 80090016.

I tried to use the Virtual Assistant to reach a human being. I have to login to access a support person, and when I enter my username it says it does not exist, so the Virtual Assistant suggests to create a new account. When I try and create a new account
with my actual username I get an error that the username is already in use.

How to I solve error code 80090016 and why is it so hard to talk to a support person at Microsoft?

This issue usually occurs because the Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
uses the manufacturer driver and not the Windows built-in Trusted Platform Module driver.

To resolve this, you can manually uninstall and reinstall Trusted Platform Module. To do so, see the steps below:

• Open Device Manager on the device on which you are experiencing the issue
• Uninstall the Trusted Platform Module driver.
