Windows 10: Error emailing docs as attachments from Office and other Windows applications

In Office Word, Excel and other apps, when I try: File >Share>Email>Send as attachment, I get an error message: "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program, or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.", even though I have Outlook installed and working fine and the default program association is configured to use Outlook for emails. This error just emerged few days ago, and I just realized that it occurs across all Windows applications including "Send to" option.I'm using Window

Hello Allan,

To attach a document file on an email, you can follow the step given below:

For Windows 10 Mobile:

• Launch to File Explorer app.
• Press and hold the file that you need to attach on the email, and select
  Share button.
• Select Outlook Mail on the suggested applications.

For Windows Phone 8.1:

• Download and install
  Files app.
• Launch Files app.
• Tap and hold the document that you need to attach on the email, and select
  Share button.
• Select the Mail app on the suggested applications.

attaching a doc to an email

I want to attach a doc word file to a email and when u click on attach its only taking me to the pictures option and not showing me the doc i saved

the phone...and how do i see the doc i saved on the phone...i have lumia 720 with windows 8

 

Windows 10 Upgrade - Can't open Office File Attachments directly from Email

After upgrade, I can no longer open any office file (Word, Excel, etc.) directly from an email that was sent to me with an attachment. I use Outlook for email. I get the following message:

Word experience an error trying to open the file.

Try these suggestions:

*Check the file permissions for the document or drive.

*Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk-space.

*Open the title with the Text Recovery Converter.

If I save the file to my drive, I can open it in the applicable office application. This is a pain and causes multiple steps because I don't want most of these files saved.

Ideas?
