Windows 10: Error: Files not found, Snip & Sketch not found, Windows Defender not found...

I keep getting this error: "Windows cannot find 'file name'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again."Many of my files and pictures older than last week wont open. Also Snip & Sketch won't work., and gives a similar error. The Windows Store App is not found. Screenshot won't work. I checked that I have ownership of the folders, and I tried to fix it with the method of unchecking controlled access folders, but windows defender was not found.Could this have been caused by a recent update?

Error Code with Snip & Sketch

Hello Isabella, sorry about your problems. My name is Marco and I will do my best to help you.

I suggest you do a reset of the application.

Here are the steps to follow.

1. To reset Snip & Sketch, press Windows Key + I to open the Settings. Go to Apps.

2. Under Apps & features, find Snip & Sketch and click on Advanced options.

3. Now scroll down and hit the Reset button.

 

Sketch and Snip

As we are working as a IT support for the secure project, we need to disable the sketch and snip in windows 10 20h2 as well as in 21h2.

We have tried to add the registry keys for DisabledHotKeys as well as NoWinKeys, and we have turned off the hotkeys from the gpedit.msc.

But it is helping to disable the hotkeys only but not the sketch and snip. There are different ways to open the sketch and snip.

1) If we disabled the hotkeys, we are able to open the sketch and snip from start.

2) We are able to open the sketch and snip from the quick actions which is inside the notification bar.

3) We are able to open the sketch and snip by using the command explorer ms-screenclip:

Please suggest here to disable or remove the sketch and snip completely from the Windows 10.

 

Snip & Sketch keeps overriding clipboard

Method 2

Reset Snip & Sketch app

1. Press Windows + I key and click on
   Apps.
   
2. Click on Apps & features. Select Sketch & Snip app from the available list of installed apps.
   
3. Click on Snip & Sketch > Advanced Options.
   
4. Click on Reset option.
   
5. Restart the computer once and check the status of the issue.
   
6. Let us know if the issue still persists.
