Windows 10: Error in Displaying icons on desktop screen

I have noticed that there is an error while displaying icons on the desktop screen. After the last row of icons, you will find a gap between the taskbar & last icons rowand if you try to add icons in that gap then your current icons position will be changed. This should not happen. It seems like its a bug

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

As you are unable to place the icons anywhere on the screen, I suggest you to follow the instructions provided below and check.

  Right click on the desktop screen.
  
• 
  Uncheck Auto arrange icons.
  
• 
  Now, check if you are able to place the icon anywhere on the screen.
  

For the lock screen issue, let’s run the Windows in build troubleshooter and check if it helps. Follow the steps provided below:

• 
  Press Windows + X key.
  
  
• Go to Control panel.
• In the search box, type Troubleshooter
  and then click Troubleshooting.
• Under System and Security,
  
• Click on System Maintenance and Click on Next button.

Deleted icons stay on desktop (not in desktop folder)

I can only suggest that you
1 Add a list of steps you have already taken.
2 Add a comment about restarting the computer. Do the deleted icons disappear then?
2 Add a comment explaining if any Desktop items do delete correctly and whether or not there are any significant differences between those that do delete correctly and those that don't.
3 Add a list of any OS tweaks you have done & any third-party OS-related utilities you have run.

I assume you have already reinstalled your display driver.
I don't see a Repair install as being relevant. Repair Install - TenForumsTutorials
