Windows 10: Error in restart Windows 10 OS after installation of Test.wim file.

Hi,I am using two Windows 10 machines for install Test.wim file. Script file ApplyImage.bat contain the command “dism /Apply-Image /ImageFile:%1 /Index:1 /ApplyDir:C:\”. This command executed on destination machine.I start destination machine in Recovery Mode and execu

Compacting a wim file?

Sorry, no idea where to put this. I just recently learned how to use dism. I use it to slipstream all hotfixes and ie10 ect into an AIO install disc. The problem is, it creates a huge install.wim after 8 index mounts and slipstreams. Considering all 8 images use the same darn wim and files, don't know why it has to increase the wim size by 1gig. Either I need to figure out how to use the same wim.install file for all indexes, or I need to compact the wim file which is now 4gbs with ie10 and all updates to April. Any way to do either?

Windows 10 is excellent but it's easy to break.

As I said with Windows 10, the Microsoft Download Tool that most download Windows 10 from, in the Sources folder has an Install.ESD instead of Install.WIM. Well unfortunately, for a successful DISM repair using Install.WIM as the check against which your OS will be repaired isn't possible with the ESD file. But you can convert the ESD to WIM using DISM as well! It takes a little bit of time but is worth it to have around when you need it!
