Windows 10: Error installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (x64) and (x86)

Hello,

I have a window 10 operating system and I am trying to reinstall my Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistribution (x64) and (x86) separately so that I can update window 10.

However I failed and this is what I got:

Error 1935.An error occurred during the assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.ATL, version="9.0.21022.8", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b" processorArchitecture="x64", type="win32". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x80070002

I have tried clearing my temp file and that doesn't work.

Please help me find a solution.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) install problem

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) is not installed on my computer. There is two (x86) files instead. I cannot install (x64).

the section about command prompt does not work either. It tells me those listings are not on my computer.

I don't know what to do..

So I am trying to install Auto-desk Inventor 2015 (the original product) and every time I am getting a error. The error in the log is as follows:

Now I have tried to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (x64) on its own and every time I install I am getting the following error:

Error 997. Overlapped I/O operation is in progress.

Due to this error I can't even install other applications such as Adobe Photoshop so any help is greatly appreciated. I have already looked at other questions but nothing seems to have worked thus far.

I am running a genuine Windows 10 PC (64bit)
