Windows 10: Error installing printer driver: signed driver unauthenticated

I installed a Brother MFC-J6920DW printer driver on a Windows 10 Professional system. Part way through the installation I got an error box with this message:Operation could not be completed error 0x800f0243.The publisher of an Authenticodetm signed catalog was not established as trusted.I understand essentially what this message is supposed to mean: a signed driver has an invalid authentication code, or has been modified since it was signed, so Windows would not install it.I hope someone can tell me what the message really means in view of these facts:1, I downloaded the driver's installer

Can't share printer—getting error message

Not working... I see the printer, but when I go to add it, I get this messge: "Windows could not connect to the printer (error 0x0000000d)."

I installed the 32-bit drivers for it and printed something out from the pc the printer is connected to, and I went to the additional drivers page and added drivers for 64-bit, and when I went to add the printer on the other machine, it copied drivers over, but after that I got the error message listed above...

hi guys

this is doing my head in..*Bang Head :banghead:
havent used the printer in a while.went to use it,and the my pc didnt recognize
my printer anymore
so i uninstalled all software.
went to reinstall again.inserted the usb cable
then get error "device driver software was not successfully installed"

used the cd supplied and downloaded the software and drivers from epson
website

now my first thoughts were compatiability issues with win 7
but i have it working before

your thoughts???

 

Windows 10 update won't install printer driver - Error 0x80240017

Recently I got a driver update for my HP printer delivered through the Windows 10 updater. It seems that the driver was successfully downloaded but cannot be properly installed, every time I try I'll get the following error:

The printer is actually a network printer. I checked the driver through the device manager and the newest driver is supposedly already installed. So I went ahead and uninstalled the printer (which is now a problem since I cannot simply add the printer again because I have no access to the network currently) to get rid of the update error, but the error still persists. Troubleshooting the updater also has no effect.

Now I wanted to check the registry entries (as was suggested here) for the printer in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print but the HP printer doesn't show up any more (maybe uninstalling was too early) and therefore I have no idea what registries I could delete without breaking anything.

Does anyone have an idea on how to proceed? Maybe even a complete different approach?

• the suggested approach in the comments to install the HP driver suite didn't work for me
