Windows 10: Error Installng Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime

Recently an update came for the office runtime in my PC. When installing it says the error code 0x80070643. The package name is KB3001652. I tried download the package manually, running system file checker and even uninstalling the redistributables and installing again but all failed. Please suggest a solution.

Your suggestion didn't work. Solved my problem (Windows 10) by re-installing Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime directly from Microsoft website and not from Windows update. After re-install the problem was solved. I hope this helps.

Step 1:

1. Open Control Panel, navigate to Programs and Features.

2. Right clicked on Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime and then clicked on Uninstall.

Step 2:

Use the tool provided in the link below to Hide/Block the update from repeatedly installing in your PC.

Having read the whole thread at
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...ools-for/fe26e007-3ee3-463c-ab97-b4b0fc0603bd , first I deactivated AVG, as it wouldn't update, then I ensured that windows defender was active.
Then I uninstalled Office 365 (2013) and it actually uninstalled. Then I uninstalled AVG. Then reinstalled Office 365 and ran all the required updates. Visual basic showed up again for an update and before I knew it, Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
Tools for Office Runtime (KB3001652) installed successfully. I will wait a bit then reinstall AVG at some point. I hope this will work for you if you try it.
