Windows 10: Error Message receive when attempting to install Brother HL-L2320D printer software &...

When I attempt to install Brother HL-L2320D printer software & drivers in Windows 10 I receive the following ERROR message: Cannot start Application Installer. [C:\Users\Dennis D. Forrester\Downloads\install\Data\Disk1\Setup.exe /clone_wait /10x0009}

UJnable to print from Brother HL-L2320D laser printer

I work from home and split time between my HP Pavilion P6716 f-b desktop and my Lenovo Edge 15 laptop.

Both are wirelessly connected to an HP Photosmart 7520 All-in-one color inkjet printer

I also have a Brother HL-L2320D laser printer connected ONLY to the HP Pavilion through a USB cable.

I was able to print wirelessly on the Brother printer from my Lenovo laptop through my Verizon / Actiontec wireless router.

However after downloading Windows 10 it no longer works.

How can start printing wirelessly on the Brother laser printer from my Lenovo laptop again?

No printer driver found for Brother HL-5040

I Found my own work-around.

Unplugged and re-plugged the printer (it's connected to the computer by a USB cable). Windows added the printer, but had the message "Driver is unavailable".

Then went through the process of adding a new printer, printer not found, I have an older printer, etc., etc. until I got to the list of Brother printer drivers. I then clicked on the HL-5140 drive and windows installed it.

So in my printers list I now have a HL-5140 printer (which is the one I select when I want to print on the HL-5040) and an HL-5040 printer with no driver.

WARNING - Do not delete the HL-5040 printer. I did that and I couldn't print.

I suspect one is making the physical connection and the other the software connection.

I am getting the following error when Windows 10 tries to install this update:

How do I fix this?
