Error message when you install McAfee virus scan Enterprise : "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service"

Iomega and McAfee Offer Enterprise Security on StorCenter PX Series NAS

Iomega, an EMC company and a global leader in data protection, today announced the addition of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise to all Iomega StorCenter PX series network storage products.

The combination of McAfee running natively on the Iomega PX series network storage products represents an industry first: an enterprise-class endpoint protection product running natively on desktop and rackmount network storage products designed specifically for small and medium businesses, remote office/branch office installations, and distributed enterprises.





McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux software empowers users of Iomega's PX series with comprehensive threat identification and remediation through McAfee's global network and reach, as well as consistent features (e.g. scanning options) and behavior (e.g. management and reporting) with the rest of McAfee's VirusScan family. Iomega is the only sub-$10K NAS vendor with an enterprise implementation of VSEL. McAfee's VSEL is expected to be included with Iomega StorCenter PX series products beginning in second half of 2012.

Iomega plans to provide McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux on all its new shipments of StorCenter PX series network storage products starting in the second half of 2012. The StorCenter PX series products will include a 3-year license for VSEL at no additional charge.

McAfee Virus Scan Mobile Program

Does anyone know if Windows Mobile supports this anymore? I got two issues here.

1) I'm having a real headache trying to get this problem taken care of. I've tried to update the programs virus listing. But I've been getting this error everytime: "A problem has occured with VSMserver.exe." Then it ask me to send in the report (yea sureee).
I've called AT&T, who passed me to motorola, who suggested I talk to McAfee themselves (since it's "their" program). I got close to getting help from McAfee but they kept asking for some key code or something.

2)Is has a REAL annoying habit of asking to scan and update when ever it pleases. I could be in the middle of a text and "bling" one of the two will come up. How can I changed this?

So after all that, should I ditch McAfee off the mobi and find another mobile virus scanner??

We sometimes hear such complaints about this issue from users of McAfee. If using McAfee try uninstalling and (if you want to continue to use McAfee) and reinstalling McAfee. Or
perhaps you should seek advice from McAfee at McAfee Support Community.

If you are using McAfee and cannot resolve this problem you may want to remove McAfee and use a different AV program….you might need to use the McAfee Removal Tool
