Windows 10: Error Performing System Restore 0x81000204

I recently wanted to perform a system restore to set my computer back to before select changes were made to it. However, upon trying to restore the pc it kept coming up with the above error no matter what date I tried. Trying to run a system restore in safe mode did not help. I'm currently running a full scan to check for malware, but other than that I'm at a loss for how to fix this problem. The error message does mention that the problem potentially has to do with the C: drive.


Does anyone know of a way to fix this error?

System Restore error 0x81000204

After getting a critical error message saying he start menu is not working, I tried doing a system restore. Because after start up and opening the desktop my computer started to lag so much that it basically froze. It looked as if the hard drive was constantly
busy with something. When I tried the system restore I get the error 0x81000204. It also says the drive C:\ might be corrupt and I should try running the system restore again after running chkdsk/R. But that didn't work either.

I have windows 10.

What should I do?
