Windows 10: Error STOP: C000021a{fatal system error} while booting system recovery partition on...

Hi there, I am trying to salvage a rather old P4-based IBM ThinkCentre computer. Long story short: I used the factory recovery partition to reinstall the stock Windows XP Professional that came with it, updated it to SP3, installed the last published patches, then proceeded on installing a more up-to-date OS Peppermint Linux. Windows XP coulds still come in handy, but there's no way I would allow XP to go on the Internet in 2022. I haven't yet figured out if this P4 3GHz+2GiB RAM would be able to take a more recent Windows. Hardware-wise, I added a 3.5" flash card reader, salvaged from anoth

Fatal Error

I've been trying to format my system but right after it finishes formatting I get a Fatal Error during the Windows installation process. That Fatal Error is a Data Error (cyclic redundancy check). I know that it's because of my hard drives, but how do I fix this issue? I have 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA II Hard Drives in RAID 0. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. *Smile

 

Chassis intruded - Fatal error - System halted

I've got this old socket 478 system sitting around it has the error Chassis intruded - Fatal error - System halted i've tryed the jumper no help, i've reset the cmos that didnt work, is the board dead? the board is a Asus P4P800.

 

c000021a Fatal System Error

I have had this same error on several of my computers. My OS ranges from Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10. I feel this bug is more along the lines of a Microsoft But in programming. When I do updates I get the same error message. I tried to do the rebuild
of windows, start windows as normal, I have even tried the F8 and did the Rebuild of windows start up and I have tried the restore to a previous known working version.

After working on this issue. I finally shut down the computer and let it sit for about 5 minutes then restarted my computer. Instead of repairing start up. I started Windows as Normal and the Windows continued to load and completed the updates that caused
my system to crash in the first place.

This Bug has occurred on different computers and on different OS's I feel it has to be a flaw in Windows.

For those of you battling with this same issue try my suggestion if you get this same error code c000021a after updating your windows. Shut the computer down for 5 minutes then restart the computer then when it gives you the option to repair start up or
load windows as normal Try to let it start up as normal and see if it bypasses the bug like it did for me.
