Windows 10: Error while activating Windows 11 after HW change

I upgraded my PC from B550A, 5800x3D, DDR4 to X870, 9800x3D, DDR5. I know that after motherboard change, I need to reactivate Windows, so I bought key, activated it and it threw an error 0xc0ea000a. Then I clicked the troubleshoot button which said I changed hardware, what a surprise. I clicked the text on the bottom where it says "I changed hardware recently" I don't know what it says specifically because I have Windows in czech language. Window popped up where I need to select current rig, well the actual one is not on the list ... Funny thing is, it always reminds me of the previously men

Windows activation fails after HW change

I changed my CPU and Motherboard and when I try to activate Windows with my Product Key it fails with error code: 0x803fa060.

I can't find this error on the Microsoft help page that lists the possible activation errors.

I didn't link my Microsoft account to the product key before changing HW.

The troubleshooter also fails activation.

 

Windows 10 digital license re-activation after HW change

Hi guys

I have a digital license of Windows 10, and needed to change the motherboard.

I linked my digital license to my Microsoft account, swapped the HW, booted my PC, and tried to re-activate Windows.

Just like it says here Reactivating Windows after a hardware change (microsoft.com)

Troubleshooting step ended up with the following:

That's the first time I change HW, and trying to re-activate my digital license.

What happened? How can I activate Windows then?

I can't activate WIn11 after i change HW

Hi, i just changed HW in my computer after long 8 years. That means MB, CPU, RAM and main SSD disc. I made slight changes before like GPU 1 year ago, but nothing more for those years.



I have really old Product Key. In fact, i have no idea from which version of Windows it was (7/8, freely upgraded to 10 and 11), but it was not OEM because i had it before that "old" PC. I know that there were no problem with HW change 8 years ago. In that time, i reinstalled Windows a few times, just because or on new HDD/SSD so i know that there is no problem with my Product Key, but with this huge HW change. But now, i can't activate my Windows at all.



So i have not activated Windows 11 Home with my "old" Product Key



Tried Troubleshooting in Win - failed to activate

Tried "I recently changed the hardware of this device" and choosed the old computer - Windows cannot be activated

If i try to "change" the Product key and use the same one... failed to activate with code (0x803fa067)

Now, the activation page (with the non activated info, troubleshooting button and change (product key) button shows me info with error code: 0xC004F213.

The product key is marked as Retail. I am Windows Insider for years so i updated on the same build of Canary Preview as on the old "PC".

Really have no idea what should i do now. Can anyone help? Thanks.
